Be Part of Something Important - Be Part of History
The U.S. Census is the largest mobilization of the workforce in peacetime.
The 2010 Census is the 23rd conducted since 1790, as required by the U.S. Constitution.
Those hired to work on the 2010 Census help their government to:
- Determine boundaries of Phoenix City Council districts
- Draw state legislative districts
- Allocate the number of Congressional seats for each state
- Fairly distribute more than $400 billion annually in federal, state, city and tribal funds to Phoenix residents based on an accurate population count
Each person living in Phoenix who is not counted in the 2010 Census means a loss of $400 per person in federal and state funds for community services we all want and need.
So being a 2010 Census worker makes a real difference and truly "counts"!
